don’t worry… i’m Christian

so i was doing some research. i came across the Blue-and-Black Movement political party in finland, the Russian Imperial Movement group, the national party in south Africa, ukrainian groups such as C14 and brotherhood, the current president of the united states (the 47th president) and majority of his followers, the group dubbed america first, and chattel slave owners in amerikkka. oh and the kkk. ya know, the ku klux klan. i almost forgot about them.

what do all of these groups, people, movements, and organizations have in common? if you say they share the ideologies of neo nazism, fascism, racism, homophobia, strong male leaders, xenophobia, the belief of divine sanction for authoritarian control and militarism, or the idea to be a “true” citizen of the nation you’re in you must be Christian, that’s on you. i didn’t say any of that. i was going to say they all claim to be Christians. Christian nationalists, actually. super Christians. close one, huh.

the leader for the National Party in south Africa said in 1942 “we stand for Christian nationalism. in italy, it is called fascism; in germany, national socialism (nazism) and in south Africa, Christian nationalism.”

yeah. if you said anything else, that’s telling.

interesting research.

the other day, the president and vice president of the great nation amerikkka showed their support to david lane and his North Carolina Nehemiah Pastor Summit. noooo. not david lane, the white supremacist who assisted in the murder of Alan Berg, a radio talk show host. another david lane. this one is a pastor. another close one, huh.

lane told Christians to “prepare for martyrdom” in their fight to save the nation from the pagan onslaught of marriage equality and legal abortion. he believes the united states of amerikkka has a “divine mission to glorify God and advance the Christian faith.”

the president offered support to that david lane. sounds awfully similar to the Manifest Destiny. remember that small event in history? when the whites believed it was God’s plan for them to conquer the land that people were already living on, spread their beliefs, and eliminate those who didn’t listen or adopt their way of living? which meant demonizing other faiths, creating a class of people, and of course murdering people. but in the name of God. because remember, this was God’s plan. these are Christians who did this.

and i know. some of you dont see an issue with this at all. wonder if you’d see anything alarming if the next president supported someone who said this for voodoo, or hindu, or islam. or a president in a country that you don’t live in said it’s THEIR God’s plan to conquer a country you live in, by any means necessary? hmm. well, back to Christian nationalism.

SMARTEN UP.

if you think of a physical dog whistle tool, only dogs react to it. it’s silent to many of us, but it produces a sound that dogs can hear. and boy do they come running.

a dog whistle in our context today is close to that. it is defined as an expression or statement that has a secondary meaning intended to be understood only by a particular group of people. people will use this to communicate specific views and beliefs with the intent to avoid antagonizing or dividing potential supporters who do not share these views. it provides you with plausible deniability. if you dont hear the dog whistle, well, you keep moving along.

that’s what makes people with more mature or experienced understandings of the game become agitited when they see people fall for the same play again and again. they know how players play. they see the play for what it is. they’ll call it out but will be seen as angry or pessimistic or conspiratorial because, on the surface, nothing is wrong. nothing that was said was racist. but knowing a different language has allowed them to understand different levels of communication.

there was a time when people, parents, teachers, politicians, and people with influence could/would just say nigger or wetback or bitch. then they had to switch up say thugs and super predators (YNs). ask hillary clinton. shout out to the feminists. now, they say “woke” or “dei.” a dog whistle. on the surface, “woke” has a literal meaning. but to dogs, they exactly what is being conveyed. same with the numbers “88.” to some, it’s just numbers. and sometimes, it is just numbers. but more times than not, it represents HH as 8 is the 8th letter in the alphabet. HH=heil hitler.

we see Christian nationalists use dog whistles all the time. the current secretary of defense has a tattoo on his bicep. it says Deus Vult (pronounced DAY-us WULT), which means God wills it in latin. it was a popular rallying cry some 14 centuries ago.

but wanna know something wild? Deus Vult is often used by white supremacists. they, as well, use it as a rallying cry. kinda interesting how Christian nationalists and white supremacists have so much overlap. but nevertheless, a dog whistle. those who know, knows. the leader of a white supremacist country didn’t nominate this person without having some similarities in ideology.

AND THIS GOES FOR THE REST OF YOU.

get out of your bubble and ask yourself “why do people strongly dislike this person that i like?” let me help with what the answer ISNT. it aint because of their walk with God.

i walk with God. that’s my faith. my dad has been preaching for longer than i’ve been alive and he and moms met at church as she was in the choir and taught sunday school. God has protected, corrected, and directed me. He has shown grace every single day of my life. mercy is what i’ve forever grateful for. Jesus is my homie. my Lord. my Father. my Savior. wont He do it?

if you study Christianity and understand it a bit without societal biases, you’ll see how it’s based on a relationship between you and Christ. it’s an acceptance that Jesus is Lord, He died for our sins and was resurrected, and He exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. aaaand you’ll see how love is at the core of it. if you know that, i’m sure you have to be somewhat confused by all the groups and people listed earlier… considering they’re neo nazis, fascists and white supremacists.

see. know that it isn’t a new phenomenon. people use RELIGION has a vehicle for their hateful, divisive, hierarchical, chauvinist, elitist, nativist ideologies. the kkk put up crosses in people yards. slave owners read the bible to slaves telling them to submit to them. the same way current world leaders use religion to rally people. wake up and think. be “woke” for once. add some authenticity to your life. where is your heart? the thing that gives you feelings.

i’ll be irresponsible if i didn’t say that. you must judge a religion or system based on its principles. NOT by those who practice it. if you judge a system or religion based on who practices it, they all woulda failed long time ago. people are flawed. we mess up.

Christianity is not what these people are practicing. love for all is not in their heart. clearly. they are white supremacists practicing and preaching nazism, fascism, and elitism and using Christianity as a vehicle to do so. and you’re falling for it. maybe if you didn’t look like these people, you’ll get it without me writing this. maybe, if you stepped back, you could see the entire alphabet instead of just two letters. you see what you wanna see.

where i’m from, we don’t rock with nazis.

where i’m from, we don’t justify hate. we don’t become so robotic and lack comprehension that we say “it’s politics” when people are showing their hate and willingness to murder you and everyone like you. that aint a difference of opinions where i’m from. racism aint an opinion. that’s a war call. and my walk with God never made me talk and believe the things these white supremacists Christian nationalists talk and believe. i wonder why, tho.

again. ask yourself “why do people dislike this person that i kinda like? what is it about them that i’m just not seeing?” and i promise you, it aint simply their walk with God.

but don’t worry… i’m Christian.
